...Frankie Carr's daughter (JoAnne) & her husband (Joe) had opened the Rum Runner in late 1979. It is still there, located across from the Liberace Museum. I started hanging around in there shortly after moving here in February of 1980. It was a big action spot to play pool. Anyway, I was given one of the invitations you show, a couple of days before the grand opening. I never did go to the grand opening. Should have kept the invitation though.

I saw JoAnne a couple of months ago, it turns out that we now live near each other, here in Green Valley near Green Valley Ranch. We talked for a while & she said that her mom still has quite a few things from the Swanky that her dad kept after the closing. Her dad passed away a few years back. Andy - Las Vegas
