I better change how I play poker... The article said:

..."Potripper" didn't fold another hand before the flop for 20 minutes with the implication being that somehow No. 363 was using a super user account and relaying all of the hole cards to "Potripper."

Sounds a lot like how I play poker (never folding a hand preflop). I guess I better change how I play or otherwise people might think I'm cheating instead of being a bad player! rofl rofl rofl rofl

It's my belief that cheating goes on 10,000% more on on-line than it does in regular brick-n-mortar poker rooms. Sure cheating takes place in real poker rooms but no where near how often it happens online. Consider these example:

  • "one man to a hand rule" - you can have any within a phone or instant-message help you at anytime while playing online poker.
  • "collusion"... It is very easy for two people or more people to be at the same table and share hole card information or play in a team against other players.
  • "Multiple Accounts" - One year while playing in Tunica in a World Poker Open event, I met a player who freely admitted that he had multiple IP accounts and would log into cash games with different accounts and control several seats at that table.
  • "Software coaches"... There are software out there that will help online players identify how other people play at the tables and give advice on how to play their hands.
  • "Superuser accounts" - it doesn't surprise me that a player could have access to such accounts or collude with current or ex-employees to gain access to hole cards. Get one employee who thinks they're not getting a big enough piece of the $$$ pie and you've got a receipe for someone willing to cheat with outside players for a percentage.

This is just a set of stuff I've come up just off the cuff. I'm sure other people will have other ideas on how it could be done.

So does this stop me from playing on-line??? Nope, I love it. I don't have to drive anywhere. I can be on a table in 5 minutes whereas it might take me an hour or several hours to get on a real table. (drive to get to a casino, register my name with room and finally get my name called). It's a convient way for us all to join our own private tournaments online with all my chippin buddies. It's great!
