Hussein and the Baathists were secularists - his idol was reported to be Stalin. These two groups and their positions are antithetical. Bush should have known this. It really riles me when Cheney equates them to play on the general lack of knowledge on this subject. Because of this admionistration's mistake we are now in a morass - and there is no good way out.
