Unfortunately not being able to pause is one of the downsides of the service since they upgraded the entire system, the other thing that bothers me is they switch from using Windows Media Player to a Flash based player which means that there is no way for listeners or even the program hosts such as myself to download a clean copy of the show's archives, I've tried saving it with several pieces of software and the result was either a very grainy produced product or a .flv (Flash audio file) which just doesn't plain work.

I've sent a email to BlogTalkRadio support about the problems involving the Flash player and the fact that a few people here who signed up for notification never received them, Hopefully I'll be hearing back from them shortly and I'll look into that service you recommended.
