Gene, I thank you for your patience...

Up-front, I cannot find you responsible for the statement, but I did find the statement. If you feel that an apology is in order, please say the word and I will be happy to oblige. However, at the time I made my post I was going from memory and I stated that I thought it was you, but that is incorrect.

It seems that the statement was made back in 2002 (March 23rd) here on TheChipBoard.com, as follows:

"And technically it isn't really slabbed, as it was not graded."

Within the context of that post, the statement was made in reference to the ICG sample slab (with an encapsulated Excalibur $1 chip) that Jim Reilly often wore around his neck. The statement was made by Pete Sanders, who I believe was the President of the Slab-Free Chapter [ sic] at that time, and, separately, was a signatory to "The List".

As you know, I am a member (and an early one at that) of the SlabFREE Club and have worked the SlabFREE table, as a volunteer, at several chip shows, to include one of the Big Shows ( ccgtcc ) because I am against slabbing. However, perhaps this might be as good a time as any to validate/refute the statement.

Jim
