I was surprised this chip didn't sell for more at the convention. It is an unfinished Hilton half dollar chip in a different color. I can only guess that the catalog description implied there were other halves from there in the same beige color, but with finished edges. To my knowledge, that's not true, although the dollar of the same design is beige. Edge scan shows what is meant by unfinished edge; it has the clay squeezed out from the two halves of the mold that has not yet been trimmed off. Not listed in either TCR or James' reference guide.

I was happy to get it for $140 at the auction.
