Many of the strip hotels could fit this description. Progress says they will continue to be demolished and replaced with new modern hotels and casinos as time goes on. I can envision lots of legal actions to prevent the Frontier from being demolished, for example, if the Moulin Rouge got so designated.

I don't believe in "taking" a person's property or adding severe restrictions on his right to use or dispose of it unless he is compensated for it. A better solution would be for individuals or organizations who believe one should be preserved to purchase at fair market value and maintain the old building as a museum.
