This looks like it is probably on the old US 40 between Truckee and Reno. You can the the irrigation flume running across the side of the hill. I used to love to go up there in the winter and see the huge icicles hanging down from the places where the water leaked out. Big rains a few years back rook out the diversion dam on the Truckee River and I don't think much of the flume is used anymore.
