Re: formal count...
In Response To: Mike Heron's Post Yesterday ()

We have 80 chips committed so far. We have received payment for 45 of them. Two members (including Mike Heron-I don't have the consent of the other to post his name) have donated more than the chips they wish to have. Some have already committed to additional chips after paying for the first ones.

Several of them are committed either to Debbie and David Spragg for their assistance in getting these chips done or to the Club Personals Project. I would like to thank Chuck Tomarchio who paid for two, one for himself and then for one of the chips going to the club project.

In July we will be having the next Chicagoland Chippers Gathering (I really like that we call it a gathering rather than a meeting) at David Kolenda's house. This will be great fun, and if the winds are right, the chips will have arrived by then, and we can begin mailing them. Gotta put them folks to work.

I have received many very gracious comments, but I hope everybody remembers that many others have put forth efforts in this project, and it makes it all the more enjoyable an activity. I am very proud of the chip, and appreciate all Debbie has done to make it so. It is also important to remember we are helping others.

Jim Follis while the election was going on, called upon the membership to step up and continue to be positive members of the community (my paraphasing of his words), I am always impressed with how we meet those calls within the club, and outside of it as well. Thank all of you from myself, and if I may be so bold, from the Chicagoland Chippers.
