Check this out...this video was recorded by the onboard camera that
records all movement. Right at the beginning the train goes by a signal
displaying two yellows which means you are diverging on to another track
at the next switch. The opposing train hadn't ran by their stop signal at
that point. However if you look at the next signal it is displaying two
reds meaning the other train falied to stop.

Just a few seconds different and it would have been a head on collission.
I'm sure the side swipe was no picnic. The combined speeds of the two
trains was 66 MPH...Pretty scary.
