Re: Tunica Farm land
In Response To: Re: Biloxi Casino Projects ()

A funny, but true story about the farm land. A cotton farmer who wasn't happy with all the new gambling and added traffic in and around his farm, was approached but a person claiming to represent a casino annd offered him several hundred thousand dollars for a small parcel of land. He refused saying he was against all this progress.
Several years passed and more casinos were built. Three of them agreed that if they bought this small piece of land they could really built a nice combined entrance to their casinos. They set up a meeting with their attorney to get with the onwer who by this time had learned to get his own attorney. The meeting took place and the offer was written down, handed to the owner who jumped up and exclaimed "JESUS CHRIST". His attorney grabbed him and said excuse us for a minute.

In the hall way the farmer said " I thought they were talking about $300-350 Thousand not $900,000.00. The attorney said take a few deep breaths and try to clam down. We will go back in there and get this deal closed. As they entered the room the casino people stood up and their spokeperson appologized for the offer and asked if $1.6 Million was more in line with what they had in mind?
