What I use
In Response To: Re: As for binders - ()

Rick, let me first say welcome to the hobby!! I have over 6000 chips and I have them in zipper binders on two bookshelves. Yes, it's a lot of chips and a lot of binders, but I've been doing them this way since I started collecting back in 1998. I buy all my supplies from JP's Corner in Missouri. They have very good prices and I have never had a problem dealing with them. I use vinyl 2X2 flips for my chips. I also use the SAFLIPS for most of my Chipcos, which will bleed, and for some Bud Jones chips with stickers, which will get stuck to cheaper flips and peel the stickers off. I also use the archival safe pages which are strong enough to hold the weight of the chips while in the binders without breaking or bending much. Lastly, I use a variety of zipper binders. I have found that if you search places such as Office Depot and the like right after school starts in August, all the zipper binders they have piled up will be on sale and very cheaply too. I have gotten mine for as low as $4 each when they sell for $12 or more regularly. For me it was mostly trial and error to figure out which products work best. I think that's part of the fun of the hobby, finding out for yourself what you like and don't like and how to best store what you have. Anyway, that's my take on this subject and I hope you find it useful.
