I recently got this nice set of Four Queens snappers from Chuck Smorse and while cataloging them I noticed that the "Sonny" one (lower left) has some excess gold foil. It is a loop that extends from the bottom right corner of the crown through the "S" in "Sonny".

Here is a close-up. It is the same on boths sides (an identical shape) but since I don't have a duplicate chip to compare it to, I can't tell if this is as it was meant to be.

My questions are:

Are the other "Sonny" chips like this one?

What does the loop represent?
