Wireless broadband NCR

I got tired of my local phone company telling me DSL isn't available in my area, tired of staying in hotels that have high speed wireless that doesn't work, is spotty or comes at a cost, tired of working at race tracks where the house wireless systems don't work and the IT guy is always somewhere else, and tired of airports that have wireless but it comes with a price tag.

I just bought a Verizon PC Air Card (model PC5750), BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess, and this baby is great! I finally have high-speed internet access at home, and I should be able to connect just about anywhere my travels find me. It's WWAN Rev-A technology, some of the newest and best on the market, and the cost is pretty reasonable ($60/month because I also have a Verizon cell phone account). The card price was $150 with a $50 mail-in rebate, knocking it down to $100.

This is more exciting than a new laptop, and a heck of a lot cheaper! The best feature of this connection for my type of work is FTP speeds up to 5 MB per second! I have to upload and download some very large data and image files to/from our web server, and with dial up, those tasks can literally take hours to accomplish. Not any more! Hallelujah! grin

I LOVE new toys! The little boy in me is alive and well! rofl
