Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau, SA (Chinese: 澳門旅遊娛樂股份有限公司 abbreviated as STDM) is owned by Stanley Ho and his family. The company was founded in 1962 by Stanley Ho and his then partners Teddy Yip (Stanley Ho's brother-in-law through his sister, Susie Ho), Yip Hon and Henry Fok. Historically it held a monopoly to Macao's gambling industry as the only licensee for casinos. In 2002, the Macao government began issuing more licenses and the monopoly was broken. Still, of the 17 casinos in operation in Macao, 14 are owned by Stanley Ho.

STDM owns the following Macao casinos and hotels:

This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it.
Hotel Lisboa
Mandarin Oriental, Macau
Hotel Sintra
Macau Golf and Country Club.
Grand Emperor Hotel
Tiger Slots
Canidrome
Casa Real Hotel
Hotel Golden Dragon
President Hotel
Hotel Fortuna
Grandview
Greek Mythology Casino
At the moment, STDM is facing difficulties listing its subsidiary Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM), which operates its casinos. This is because Stanley Ho's sister Winnie Ho Yuen-ki is objecting to the listing of SJM and is trying to file a lawsuit against the company.

STDM also owns a 31% interest in the Macau International Airport, the Seng Heng Bank Limited, and numerous land holdings in Macao.
