I too came across this same situation. Years ago, when I was married, I went through the same thing. For will purposes, I left it to my wife, or surviving children. But since nobody in the family would have a clue as to what to do with it, I also left a detailed note in my lock box on whom to contact. The contact should be someone you trust who would guide your beneficiaries on the best way to dispose of the collection. You should never leave it up to someone to blindly ask for offers.
