I just got back from IPMBA instructor school in Baton Rouge. IPMBA stands for International Police Mountain Bike Association. The school was definatly one of the toughest schools i ever went to! But im now certified to teach!
Day 1, This was the only day i had to go to the casinos. Once my class started, it was non stop stress and studying.
So on the 1st night i went to the Hollywood Casino soon after we checked in. The Hollywood Casino had a gift shop. There werent any casino collectables in the gift shop. Next stop was the coustomer service to get a slot card. The 2 ladies at the desk were nice and they gave me a pair of "Hollywood Casino" glasses. As i walked into the casino area, i seemed to encounter several rude emplyoees. I went to the cage to get chips and the lady told me "you cant buy chips, you cant take them out of the casino" So i had to sit at a table game. I played the min table, $10 black jack. I told the dealer (also an unhappy employee) that i needed several $2.50s for tip money. I played for a bit and was up about $20 or so. I thought i should leave while im ahead and the dealer asked me to color up. I told him i didnt need to color up and walked away fast. I was going by the cage and i was told "you cant leave with your chips" so i reached in my pocket and tried to make shure i didnt pull all the chips out. The Hollywood is very small inside and i had the feeling that some of the people gambling there were gambling their paychecks away. The crowd was unusual for me to see in a casino. There was a very dirty homless looking man hanging out by coustomer service and was begging and harrasing people. Security was close by and let it go. All said, i really didnt like the Hollywood.
I then went to the Belle of Baton Rouge. The Belle is attached to the hotel i was staying at (Sheratin) and ownes the hotel. There is a walkway from the hotel to the casino that goes over a street. I started off being treated rude from the get go there too. The security i ran in to wanted my ID. As i gave it to him i asked a few questions about the place and he wouldnt answer me or even respond that i was talking to him. Inside was bigger than the Hollywood. The coustomer service girls there were AWSOME!!! but they were the only frendly people i ran into there. I again had to sit to get chips. I didnt see one dealer there that appeared happy. The dealers i had showed NO personality. The waitress managed to avoid me the whole time as well! Anyway i did ok there too so i cashed in and kept just a few chips.
I had planned on going back for more chips on the last day of my trip.
About day 3. i go to Walmart to get supplies for class and i cant find my cash! I had around $240!!! So i use my credit card. Me and my partner looked everywhere and all my cash was gone! (im hopping i find it today as i start do unpack!) So now i have to go the rest of the trip on the Credit card. But because i lost my cash, i couldnt get any chips the last night like i had planned. Thank god they fed us well at the school!!!!
