There is no "15 minute" option on eBay

Skip posted that it was a much requested option, but there is currently no provision for an automatic extension of "end of auction" when a member bids. I believe Skip mention that other auction sites have tried this feature.

Those who remember the chip auctions that Howdy Herz used to run recall that he had a similar provision; the auction only ended when his phone didn't ring for a fixed period (believe it was 10 minutes). That time extension applied to all lots in his auction, not just the one receiving the last bid. Made a lot of sense for a phone auction when there was only one person answering the phone and it was frequently difficult to get past the busy signal toward the end of the auction.
