It was apparently a custom back some years ago to make bracelets out of the Monaco round chips (not the plaques). I have a "set" of them and have seen a number of these since then. I have been told they were sold as souvenirs in that country.

I found two beautiful ivory chips years ago, with English pound figures on them. The edges had been drilled and pillar and post inserted to be used as earrings.
