Probably pre-Chinook Winds

Social gaming was legal in Oregon for years before there was Indian Gaming here. Particularly on the coast, it was common for hotels and taverns to have poker and blackjack games, sometime run by individuals who moved the game around. I believe some of these games are still operating, although the big casinos at Lincoln City (Chinook Winds) and a few miles inland (Spirit Mountain) that taken away much of the business.

Shilo Inn is a common franchise hotel in the Northwest with more than 20 locations in Oregon alone. The one in Newport is just a few miles from Lincoln City. I was at Chinook Winds before they built their casino and they were operating in an inflated tent on the beach. There was a hotel on the beach, and I seem to recall it was a Shilo Inn but I see there is no longer one listed for Lincoln City.
