Your being a new member is not reason in and of itself to abstain from participating in the election process. My recommendation is that you make your way over to the Club board and find the position statements of those running for contested offices. You might find some issues that resonate with you and decide to vote after all.

Another thing you might do is read over recent postings by the candidates on both the Club board and The Chip Board and then make your decision as to whom you think might best represent the Club.
