The date on the dollar is 1923. I checked it out with a jewelers loupe, and couldn't see any signs of a loop on the collar. Someone wrote 1948 on the dollar... I think the ebay seller said his parents were married in Vegas in 1948, and that his mom wrote the date on it.

A tent? Hmmm...tempting, we could use some extra storage space for all our stuff ...but I think we'll keep the dollar. Thanks anyway!

And thanks for the info . It's been a couple of years since we bought it, but I think it fell in that price range.
