The poker room manager of the Club Royal tells a much different story than the usual one.
He works for me and has for the last 10 years.
He says the Club Royal was in dire financial troubles and was not lost in the storm. He says it was scuttled in the storm for insurance.
He has a few low denoms of the chips.
If I was scuttling a ship, I would take a few valuables off 1st.

BTW, Mark Lighterman does not agree with this story. I'm not saying its true, I don't know.
