Re: I must have misspoken rofl
In Response To: a question for the old guys ()

Something a lawyer said rang true?

Seriously, I had the same question. I read a story in our club mag about a search to identify an illegal he had. This stirred a thought in my head. I had bought four boxes of chips (different colors) at an auction. I thought they were from somebody's home poker set, and was going to use them that way. Stuck them in a drawer. A couple of years later I joined the CCGTCC but had never thought about those chips.

When I read the article I got curious, and dug out the chips which had set in my drawer for several years, and looked at them. The first one I grabbed was a Peak & Bohart which I found on the internet immediately (Ed Hempel's web site). I went thru the rest, and got curious.

I began researching them, found a bunch of info on a few, found nothing on others (kicked myself for only buying 4 boxes), and ejoyed the hunt, and the story. I also learned a lot about Peoria Illinois. The chips in my scan are from those boxes.

The internet, historical societies, fellow collectors are all great resources. But the real fun is when your tweaking your brain thinking of somewhere else to look. It is also when your wife may take the computer away. grin

Good Luck (I'll let the old guys give the good advice).
