Aren't they? I was at a show in Montana last summer and this little girl was eating the things...I mentioned it to her mother and she told me they were harmless...I kind of made mention that I thought some of them probably might not be good to chew on...She told me...and laughing..."Well, we all learn some lessons the hard way."
