NCR The things we do for a great concert NCR

Headed up to Oakland Saturday for a Bob Seger Concert. I was feeling a bit under the weather with a slight fever but that wasn't going to stop me from seeing one of my all time favorite musicians, especially with the great seats close to the stage. What a great show but then came the drive home from hell. Had to chain up going through the mountains which is usually no big deal. Right after that they closed Hwy 80 due to spin outs. After we got going it was 20 mph max all the way, that is unless you're driving an SUV without chains and you can do an easy 60 mph (idots). No visibility, white-out conditions, blowing snow, the roads a mess and the fool that I was I kept on going, well at least for a while. Pulled off at a gas station to get some water and tried to get back on the freeway on an unplowed on ramp. For those of you who know the area it was at Nyack. Got about 20 feet up the ramp and the car sank in snow. Walked back to the station and called AAA who had problems coming out due to the weather. An hour and a half later Cal-Trans started to clear the ramps and in the process almost buried the car. I guess they don't have a sense of humor when someone blocks their roadway. They must have called a supervisor because the next thing I know 4X4 showed up and he was more than happy to pull me out. On the road again and after driving for 74 miles with chains on I finally got home. Only took 9 hours through the mountains. I'm laying around the house now, sick as a dog, a fever and one nasty chest cold.

Would I do it again - Every Rock and Roll Never Forgets minute.
