A Father Smith and a Rabbi Feinberg were sitting next to each other on an airplane.

After a while, Father Smith turned to Rabbi Feinberg and asked, "Is it still a requirement of your faith that you not eat pork?"

Rabbi Feinberg responded, "Yes, that is still one of our beliefs."

Father Smith then asked, "Have you ever eaten pork?"

To which Rabbi Feinberg replied, "Yes, on one occasion I did succumb to temptation and tasted a ham sandwich."

Father Smith nodded in understanding and went on with his reading.

Awhile later, Rabbi Feinberg spoke up and asked the priest, "Father, is it still a requirement of your church that you remain celibate?

Father Smith replied, "Yes, Rabbi, that is still very much a part of our faith."

Rabbi Feinberg then asked him, "Father, have you ever fallen to the temptations of the flesh?

Father Smith replied, "Yes, Rabbi, on one occasion I was weak and broke with my faith."

Rabbi Feinberg nodded understandingly and remained silent, thinking, for about five minutes.

Finally, Rabbi Feinberg turned to Father Smith and said, "Beats the sh!t out of a ham sandwich though. Doesn't it?"
