Gamblers soon will be able to find out a little more easily if Atlantic City really is always turned on and if what happens in Vegas really stays in Vegas.
Spirit Airlines will begin nonstop service between Atlantic City International Airport and Las Vegas on May 3.

Initial service between the resort and the Strip will feature one flight per day.

That may seem like a slow start of service for two resorts that draw millions of visitors every year, but Atlantic City gaming officials and Atlantic City International operators say it's a significant development.

“I think that anything that Spirit can do to increase its lift for Atlantic City is great,” said Jim Perry, chief executive officer for Trump Entertainment Resorts. “There are more and more people who live in South Jersey and who visit Atlantic City casinos and also want to have the Las Vegas experience.”

*** Note; In another local paper; "Alantic City Weekly" (Pinky's Corner) reported an introductory fare of $79 each way good through June, but had to be booked by February 28th.
