There are a lot of chips out there which are probably illegals, but there isn't enough evidence to specifically tie them to a particular location. The evidence that establishes the line is vague (and many folks call all of them illegals-incorrectly). If there isn't evidence they call them UFCs, but there is more info and resources available all the time.

Check out the web site that Gene and David have started, Ed Hertel has a site also. I made a find a few years ago, and some were known illegals, some I was able to establish their providence (with help from the guys I mentioned), and some which I am sure are illegals, but can document.

UFCs are not inherently bad chips, and the search for their history could be fun. It is also possible that the guy you got them from knew where they were from.
