Just to put closure on the Sally Rand story (if anyone cares) she was the feature act in February, 1956,(at age 61) during the reopening of the Glenn Rendezvous in Newport. The joint had been closed for years after Art Dennert was ousted by the Cleveland boys.

Dennert, who fought the Syndicate, died under mysterious curcumstances in 1952

The Glenn Rendezvous was the sewer run by Tito Corinci for the Syndicate.

He drugged George Ratterman who was running for sheriff on a reform ticket. This botched effort lead to Ratterman's election. By this time in 1961, the Vegas Airlift had already started. The incident was credited for the final "cleanup" in Newport. In fact the boys had already agreed there was too much publicity and had begun moving to Vegas earlier.
