Hi Jim,
There's a link below to an old webpage that I did, showing the cards we picked up one weekend. It's the only postcard webpage that we've got.

Yes, I'm the Pam G. that did the magazine article...thanks for the kind words! grin And thanks to Brian "scanman" Cashman (aka Mr. Splashbar), who scanned all of the postcards vbg (our scanner is NOT working... sad ).

There are datecodes on the linen postcards manufactured by Curt Teich. Some of the codes are in the white border on the front of the card, some are in the stampbox, some are below the stampbox. (Not all say Curt Teich...the Boulder Club card says "C.T. Art Colortone")

The code starts with a number and letter, then a hyphen and more numbers/letters. The first number and letter are what you want.

The letter indicates the decade:
A=1930
B=1940
C=1950
D=1960

The number indicates the year. The Boulder Club card is #0B-H1018...so it's 1940.

A card coded 3B-???? would be 1943
A card coded 2C-???? would be 1952, etc.

I love the old postcards! It's so cool to see what these places used to look like... grin
