The North Rim facilities close in mid-October and the area is open for day use only. The road from Jacobs Lake to the rim closes with the first major snow and usually stays closed until mid-May. You need to check with the Park Service before you go.

The South Rim facilities are open all year. Been to both - my preference is the North Rim (more trees, cooler temperature and fewer people) but the view from the South Rim is just as great.
