Re: Every value chip ever used in A.C. is still

Yes and No.

Un-redeeemed Playboy chips (except the backup chips which were never put into play) are still redeemable by the State through a fund that was set up for redeeming outstanding Playboy value chips. One would be foolish to "take advantage" of the State's offer however because the collector value is worth far more than what the state will redeem them for.

A.C. Casinos that have been bought out or taken over by newer properties such as; Golden Nugget, Bally's Grand, The Grand chips are still redeemable at Hilton.

Sands; until they closed last month, was still obligated to redeem Brighton chips. I believe that Sands chips are currently redeemable at Ballys.

Boardwalk Regency chips are still redeemable by Caesars.

Tropworld chips are still redeemable by Tropicana.

Harrah's at Trump Plaza chips are still redeemable by Trump Plaza.

Even though Resorts has gone through several different ownerships, all chips going back to 1978 are still redeemable by the current owners of Resorts who have assumed the outstanding debt owed by previous owners including Merv Griffin, Sol Kirzner, Crosby family, etc.

Atlantic City chippers always get into technical debates with Las Vegans about what is "obsolete" compared to Las Vegas chips that can be obsoleted simply by casino properties posting a redemption notice in the local Las Vegas newspapers.
