Re: Geeezz...give a girl a chance!

Dug out the phone books....

First off...do you know what addresses were in block 16? I know that the Arizona Club and the Double O Bar were in Block 16, and both of them were in the 200 block of North 1st.

The Tivoli Tavern was at 126 North 1st... probably not block 16, but maybe block 15, or was it block 16? Some foggy thought in my brain says that drinking was originally confined to 2 blocks...?? (The Golden Camel was at 110 N. 1st, if that's any help at all...??)

Anyway, phone books...

1939 phone book lists:
Tivoli Tavern
126 N. 1st
phone 396
Mgr. JB Gout

No listing in any of our phone books for JB Gout.

WS Goodwin was listed in all the phone books from 1939 up to (and including) 1950. I forgot to look after that. His address varied from 306 N. 1st to 305 N. 1st to 305 1/2 N. 1st, but his phone number was always 483.

Didn't find any listings for Bob Petersen.

The Tivoli Tavern was listed through the October, 1951 phone book. It was not listed in April of 1952.

Bit of useless trivia: while looking for JB Gout, I saw a listing for PJ Goumond (he owned the Apache Hotel, didn't he?) his phone number was 397 (at his residence at 420 S. 7th), the one issued after the Tivoli....
