Backstage at the event, everyone was joking about the way in which TBS would have had to handle the vulgarity. I think they even joked about it on the broadcast after the "Entourage" kids did their bit (Jeremy Piven in particular).

Here's what was said backstage, when Whoopie, Robin and Billy were asked how things have chnaged in comedy since their early days in comedy:

ROBIN WILLIAMS: There was no bag of di**s when we began (a reference to Louis C.K.’s opening joke)

BILLY CRYSTAL: I mean it was uh, if anything’s changed, it was a little rough tonight. It was a little rough tonight.

ROBIN WILLIAMS: Wow! All the people on TBS were going “what do we have?” Even Ted’s going “Oh Lord!”
