No new Sands chips are being issued as any unredeemed outstanding chips would become a liability (debt owed) for the new owner. In fact, I read something in today's paper that the unpaid progressive jackpots will be "hit" before they close on Saturday. The only collectible I've seen marking the Sands closing is a pinback button that the employees are wearing (and have been instructed not to give them up as they are part of their uniform). I see one such pinback button is currently being offered for sale on ebay.
