NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

Tonight’s selection we are going to get a piece of the rock, no not Rock Hudson but the rock of Gibraltar. The British Colony of Gibraltar is a city-sized country; the capital is Gibraltar and is the ONLY town in the 2 square mile country. It has been steeped in Greek mythology as one of the Pillars of Hercules. Joint talks on the future of the Rock held between Spain and the United Kingdom have occurred since the late 1980s, with various proposals for joint sovereignty discussed.

The note is a 2000 Millennium Commemorative Issue 5 Pound note featuring a mature portrait of Queen Elizabeth at right and as watermark, The back shows the cable car gondola assending to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar at right, a view of the harbor at center, and a Gibralter Monkey at left. This note has enhanced security features. The book value of this note in UNC condition is $27.50. ENJOY!
