NEW LISTINGS ON eBay AND GREAT FIND!

October 8, 2006

Hello,

This is ONENEVADADOLLAR’S 26th notice of items for sale on EBAY.

As always, thank you to the WATCHERS, the BIDDERS and of course the BUYERS!

On Sunday, October 8, 2006 between 2:00 PM and 2:45 PM PDT --- 80 items went up on eBay! The start times were staggered!

I am listing a whole bunch of chips:

NEVADA (NEW & OLD), north & south, a couple of really nice chips, a great old DI roulette chip, some CALIFORNIA card room chips, a few ATLANTIC CITY chips, a FLORIDA Palm Beach Kennels chip, a Caesars INDIANA chip and a nice SEYMOUR CODED old poker chip!

And a spectacular chip find as well that for the FIRST time ever I am selling a quantity at fixed auction! You need to read the following:

THESE CHIPS WERE PURCHASED BY CHRIS AND ME VERY RECENTLY, I WAS SURE I HAD SEEN THE CHIP IN ONE OF MY RESOURCE BOOKS. AFTER LOOKING THROUGH KREGG HERZ'S BOOK OF THE UNITED STATES PLAYING CARD COMPANY I DISCOVERED THE EXACT CHIP ON PAGE 31. THE NOTATION IS "CHICAGO, 1936. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY WERE KNOWN TO EXIST UNTIL I WAS CORRECTED BY RE/READING KREGG'S INTRODUCTION IN WHICH THE CHIP'S IDENTITY IN THE BOOK WAS EXPLAINED. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD SAMPLES OF ACTUAL CHIPS OF ALMOST EVERY CHIP IN THE BOOK THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY PROOF THAT THE SAMPLE WAS MORE THAN JUST THAT, A SAMPLE. NOW WE DO! I HAVE CHOSEN TO SELL THESE CHIPS IN A FIXED AUCTION FORMAT. I AM SELLING 25. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT CHRIS AND I HAVE ALL OF THIS PARTICULAR COLOR CHIP THAT EXISTS. REMEMBER IT WAS 1936. THEY DID NOT MAKE 1000'S OF CHIPS BACK THEN. THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT COLORS; THIS IS THE ONLY COLOR I HAVE. ALL OF THE CHIPS ARE IN ABOUT THE SAME SLIGHTLY USED TO AVERAGE CONDITION. I WILL NOT BE SELLING THE REMAINDER IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, I MEAN REALLY FORESEEABLE FUTURE. WERE THESE CHIPS USED IN AN ILLEGAL GAMING OPERATION NEAR OR IN CHICAGO? WE WILL NEVER KNOW BUT THEY ARE GREAT CREST & SEAL CHIPS AND THEY ARE 70 YEARS OLD!

Other casino memorabilia:

Some really nice DICE (one offering is for an UNLISTED Pioneer Club Las Vegas set of dice, a must see), some MATCHBOOK COVERS, MORE unusual DISPLAYS of SINGLE CARDS from multiple DECKS from several casinos, some other DECKS OF CARDS (PLAYBOY too!) as well AND unopened and unused CAESARS PALACE deck (BLACK) & ROYAL CARIBBEAN deck (RED), some really nice POSTCARDS, some ASHTRAYS, TWO of which are not in the BOOK, including a “COMPLETE” set of STARDUST stackers, you really need to see those (one of which is not in the BOOK) and CALIFORNIA CARD ROOM ASHTRAYS TOO!

AND last but not least 2 really interesting PAPER EPHEMERA:

A TROPICANA Casino Guide to gaming! & A HAROLDS CLUB 7th floor Fun Room napkin!

Thanks,

Christine & Sheldon Smith
