Re: Many dentists have gone to digital X-ray

I know my dentist has it. The price for taking the x-rays hasn't dropped on my bill? vbg

Right Don, it is a good idea.

Just like digital cameras, the equipment is a large up front expense, the cost of pictures has dropped. I don't even buy film anymore. The pictures are easier to work with, store, manage, make a long list of positives here. My old cameras, lenses and just about everything are in boxes in the vault. Obsolete for most purposes.

When I had to have some work done by a surgeon last year, my dentist said "wait a minute" he hit print, and handed me an 8 1/2 x 11 print to carry with me, so I could save the cost of a duplicate x-ray.

So it's possible that someone could do chip inspections and have documentation, on the spot.

How about asking a company that makes the machines, if they would like to come demo one at the convention? Or make an appearance for a fee? They have the equipment, software and knowledge.
