...I was at the place a week ago checking for ghosts (L. Fitzgerald, Bal-Tabarin, Joby's etc.) and wandered around the hotel floor. There were about thirty pictures on the walls of Crystal Bay through the years. Saw mills, boats and various clubs but only a few of the Biltmore itself. Being Nevada Club nutty, it was cool to see the building before L.F. put in the staircase and basement casino. At any rate, while no means a complete rundown of Biltmore or North Shore history, there were no pics or mention of a tram, cable car or similar transport, even though there were depictions of much tourist activity. Could it have been a short lived folly? Perhaps Steve Blust might weigh in on the subject or another L. Tahoe expert.
