I got to meet quite a few people that I hadn't met before at this year's convention, it was almost too much fun!

I doubt I'll be able to make the 2007 convention. Racing usually has me slammed for free time in August. I got back from Cleveland yesterday, my fourth long weekend on the road in a row this month. I don't see a window in next year's schedule happening, but it could happen. I'll have a better handle on it next week, as the primary racing sanctioning body I work for will be releasing their 2007 schedule Sunday or Monday.

And you're right, those jetons are beautiful! They were part of what I won at the French roulette table at the Paris the first time I played it. Don Anthony picked me up the next morning so we could catch breakfast and talk chips. After breakfast, we went to his new home in Vegas so we could scan those jetons (nobody had publicly posted a scan of the $1000 prior to that). I sure miss Don, one of the truly good guys in the hobby.

I'm hoping for a window that will allow me to be at the Splashbar again next year.
