NCR Miracle Banknote of the Day....

Today marks the 45th anniversary of Hawaii being admitted into the union (August 21, 1959) as the 50th state. This is my second exception of posting US currency here, but it was just too appropriate to do so.

Hawaii historically called the Sandwich Islands is located 2300 miles from the mainland. It is a Polynesian archipelago comprised of nineteen islands and atolls and numerous smaller islets in the North Pacific Ocean of the undersea mountain range of the Hawaiian-Emperor seamount chain.

The note is a 1935 issued Silver Certificate that was over stamped “Hawaii” in 1945 incase Hawaii were to fall into the Japanese hands, these notes would become worthless and not affect the mainland currency. Because if the age and the small number of these notes they are becoming more and more scarce and increasing in value.

Today’s note title is listed as “NCR Miracle Banknote of the day…” the reason is that this note (shown) is being listed on eBay right now. The Final value of this note will be forwarded to the Miracle family c/o Dennis Shoop. Want to boast the price and help? Here’s the link:

I will refrain from making a value notation, as the book value and exchange rate of this note are irrelevant in this case. Enjoy / Bid
