new release A new rack in Tucson and it's RFID-tagged!...

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe casinos (Casino del Sol and Casino of the Sun) here in Tucson, Arizona have switched to a new rack for blackjack play (they have a separate Chipco rack for poker). That new rack is RFID active!

For your viewing please I am attaching a scan of the $1, $2.50 and $5 chips. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be able to stop by and temporarilly get a $25 and $100 for scanning purposes. These are GPI (under the Paul-Son brand) H/C chips. Even though, at the present time, poker and blackjack are only offered at the Casino del Sol facility, the chips bear the names of both properties on the chips. Both side of the three chips are shown.

Please note that I visited the casino today, after having not been there for quite some time. Evidently this new rack was released about a month ago and some how it has slipped the attention of us collectors!

While there I saw placards announcing a recall of the previous Paul-Son chip rack (that used for blackjack), not the Chipcos being used for poker.

The older rack will be relegated to being a back-up rack, HOWVER, after October 31st, they will not be redeemed (unless of course the back-up rack get put into play, or at least parts of it).

This new rack is RFID-savy.

As a matter of reference, this new rack also includes a snapper (for the first time) with the objective being to rid the blackjack tables of the $1 slot machine token and the fifty cent, US coin, used to pay a $5 natural 21. This is part of an overall effort to rid the casino of slot machine tokens and go 100% TITO. This means that the $1 and $5 tokens will soon, if not already, be obsolete. (I'll have to check on that when I go back tomorrow.)

I will entertain requests to make trades for these chips, but only for $5's, $2.50's and $1's. HOWEVER, I cannot do that as an open-ended offer. Also, I will offer to purchase chips, but I need to use caution in doing so and ask that you email me for details.

My issues, for the most part is that I've done this before, as an open-ended offer. When the casino released their Chipcos, I carried $800 in chips out the door, after multiple visits, multiple mailings and tons of email. When they did the current rack, I carried more than $600 out the door, in chips and had all the same demands as the previous release.

I apologize up front, and will commit to do the best that I can, but I do not have $100's on-hand, the availability to visit the post office many, many times over and sort and pack all the anticipated requests based on past events.
