Re: Colonial Club- IMO Not Chicago---Pekin, IL
In Response To: Re: Ed Hertel - Colonial Club ()

They are not fakes.
I have the Blue 4 white $5 and yellow 4 red $25.
I believe the chips are a toss up between Pekin, IL and Augusta, Ga.

Mine came out of the Taylor sample hoard that David got.

Taylor duplicated the hot stamp for both Pekin and Augusta on Harp and T mold's. I have a harp that is on the Augusta order 1941 & 42.
Peking order was 1946, 47, and 48.
Different names so I can not tie the 2 joints to one guy.

There is a yellow $25 Harp, no inserts, on the Pekin order. There are also Black $5 T's, black $5 harps, and green $5 T's on the Pekin order.
There are no $1 on the Pekin order so my guess is the customer had enough $1 and did not re-order them.

It is possible the weaves I had were given to Taylor to duplicate by a customer. It is possible Hunt or Taylor actually sold the weaves and then did harps and T's on a later order.

I am listing my weaves as Pekin, Il because of the yellow $25 T in the order. Also none of the Augusta order had denoms.
