David Feavel & Other Harrah's Collectors...

Sometime back I asked you about this tray as there were some doubts as to it's authenticity.

The mystery has been solved thanks to Dwayne Kling.

Took me a long time, but here is a little info on Harrah's Zodiac ash tray. The quote is from Warren Nelson's book: Always Bet on the Butcher. page 80. Every thing I am sending you is all that is in the book.

"I was supervising the construction and doing what ever I could to get the joint open.
Bill (Harrah) had an architect and the theme of the new Harrah's was to be astrological--all twelve signs of the Zodiac were represented in some form."

So, the ash tray would be a really valuable one as, of course, it had to be from the very first days of Harrah's. (Harrah's opened on June 20, 1946).
