Funny story about Banana Rama

When Silicon was starting to fail they licensed their software to Mirage Corp (before MGM bought them, and then the combined company later bought Mandalay). Mirage was toying with doing internet gambling, and had even bought a gaming license for Isle of Man?, where they thought they could base a legal internet gambling company - if they could get approvals from Nevada Gaming (which has proved loath to do so).

In an effort to test on-line gaming technology, for about half a year you could play a lot of Silicon game titles on-line (Banana Rama, Krazy Keno, and others), through Mirage's website. No money was bet or won - you actually accumulated points based on play (much like from your slot card when you play in person), and you could use those points for free nights, meals, shows, everything EXCEPT cash.

FUNNY PART: I figured out a way to automate game-play, by employing a "mouse mover" program. At random intervals, between 2-7 seconds, it would click wherever I positioned the mouse. Done this way, there was no way for their computer to know I wasn't actually playing... Every night for months, I'd leave my computer playing these games while I slept - earning me comp points! When all was said and done, I got a 2 niter at the Bellagio, and a 2 nighter at the Mirage, buffets, dolphin habitat, etc. Using a free airline ticket from a bump, it was a lot of fun for no outlay of cash... Morally reprehensible, I know - but heck, you work hard all your life, and then die!
