Well, one entitled "Records of the H.C. Edwards Company" that I'm aware of, although there may be more. In addition he's authored numerous published articles on chips, including extensive research into their origins.

I think I'll take Gene's opinion over most other peoples when it comes to where and when chips originated and whom they were made for.
