UPDATE on Sue Wells! grin

I received the first E-Mail below from Sue yesterday letting me know that they are now back in their home after 10 months! The E-Mail below that is her reply to my asking about the gaming down there. Boomtown opened TODAY among other things. Interesting reading about gaming in that area. Andy - Las Vegas

"Just a quick note to let everyone know that Ed and I are back in our house. After 10 long months of scrubbing and ripping out and rebuilding, we are finally HOME. We still have more work to do (the touch up stuff never ends) and we still need countertops and furniture, but who cares. Better to camp out in the house than in the FEMA trailer. We are grateful we had it to use, but it's just got to go!!

Please forgive this mass email, but it's the quickest way to pass on our good news. Let me say again - a big thank you - to everyone for your concern, love and support. We are bracing ourselves as another hurricane season is upon us. We have decided if it happens again, we'll through away the key. Also, the next time we won't be here to watch it happen. We'll evacuate when we're given the order.

We're wishing everyone fair skies and calm seas."

"Hi Andy,

Boomtown opened today at 10 AM. Completely remodeled but still on a barge. Treasure Bay opened in their hotel bar area with 81 slots only last week. They plan a further expansion in the fall. They'll add table games and more slots. Grand Biloxi (Harrah's) to open in August. If they have decided on a name, I don't know it. They will be in temporary quarters in the Bay View Hotel while further construction continues. Beau Rivage is still planning an 8/'29 grand opening. Their barge is being completely remodeled. Grand Gulfport sold to owners of the Copa. The owners plan a Sept. 2 opening in the Oasis Hotel. The casino will now be called Island View. Magic Bay St. Louis will open in the fall with a new name, Hollywood. Foxwoods plans to build at the Broadwater Hotel site (President Casino). No time table yet. Silver Slipper moving along with construction in Lakeshore (near Bay St. Louis/Waveland area). I'm working at the IP, and it's always jammed packed. Isle and Palace are doing quite well also.

Take care and enjoy the convention. Wish I were there with you."
