Try this… Search your hard drive for an "XLSTART" directory. Mine is located at:

“C:\Documents and Settings\Buzz\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART”

Every time Excel starts it checks this directory and runs everything it finds. I know Adobe loves to put stuff in here to add toolbar buttons and other stuff. Just move anything you find to another place and open Excel again and see if that helps.
