I don't think anyone has suggested that "the club" attempt to stop people from buying fantasy chips ... but it remains to be seen if club members are ordering these knock-offs from the manufacturer and then misrepresenting them as being from a "casino" when they are sold, knowing full well what they are selling.

I will join Charles Kaplan efforts in exposing those who are engaged in such despicable practices in our hobby and will continue to encourage other club members to do the same.

Several years ago, I said that we (as club members) don't realize the clout we have as an organized group to bring resolve to these difficult matters. I think that peer pressure has a place in keeping almost everyone honest and above board in our hobby ... something that baseball card collectors never had. I shudder to think how bad our hobby might have been reduced to over the past several years if there were not active individuals calling attention to some of the chip shenagins that have taken place in the past. You have mentioned a few areas of concern Jim, with slabbing and brass cores. I'm very surprised to read that you don't take this latest abuse in the hobby more seriously.

I don't know the present Endy family member who is associated with Blue Chip ... but I can tell you that Paul Endy of Paulson was a true gentleman who listened to reason when the Foxy Firehouse chips were being introduced into the marketplace ... and to his credit he had them all pulled off the shelves. I would hope that Paul Endy's son posseses the same vision and integrity as his father had and will do the right thing.
